 Antiques & Collectables In Magick

Using Coins in Magick
Coins and tokens have been used through-out time for magick and
spiritual causes. Many Older US Coins (pre 1964) were made with
Silver ... which is a very powerful magickal metal. Silver is the
metal of the Moon and is excellent for rituals involving wealth,
love, protection and more. It is one of the very first metals used
by human-kind and many of the first religious items were created
with this metal.

There are many different rituals that can be worked using Silver
Coins. The next time you are working a wealth ritual ... try using a
Silver Coin under the full moon. When you are in need of love, or
you need to strengthen the love you already have ... place a silver
coin, herbs, stones, and oils in a red pouch and carry it in your
pocket.

Today, one of the best, and most affordable, ways to acquire a
Silver Coin is to purchase the US Silver Eagles, which are 1 Oz.
of .999 Fine Silver. These coins are produced annually by the US
Mint. In addition to the US Silver Eagle ... Silver Dollars (Morgan
and Peace) from the 1870's through the 1920's are quite nice.

Using ANY Collectibles and Antiques
Both MoonRaven and I love using Collectibles and antiques in our
rituals when we can. Our altars are currently old displays that we
used in the store at one time. They have so much energy built into
them that you can feel it. It is rather neat to think about the
different authors who touched these displays when they
were in the store.

Some of the herbs and oils that we have at home are stored
in "collectable" tins and bottles. Not only do they look nice, but
they also have a unique (and rather calming) energy from being in
existence for many years. Hey ... I have even seen MoonRaven use Ty
Beanie Babies in rituals. They are perfect symbols for power
animals. Imagine using - for YOUR Love Ritual - the crystal wine
glass that your great, great, grandparents used at their wedding in
the "Old West". Bet there would be some neat energy there !

The older an item is, the better the chance that it was made with
better materials and/or by hand. That in itself can add a nice
energy to rituals. Like my dad loves to say ... they don't make them
like that anymore.

When someone becomes a "collector" or and "acquirer of antiques" a
certain level of their heart is involved. For a die-hard collector,
a majority of their free-time (or at least a spare room in their
house) is completely dedicated to their "collectable" items -
searching for and researching information. For a casual collector,
there is still the "spark" of excitement that flares-up when they
find something that they were looking for.

Why not use some of that energy in your rituals ?

By incorporating YOUR collectable, antique, or meaningful
possessions into your rituals, you can bring some of that extra
energy to the surface. Trust me ... it doesn't have to look like a
magickal item in order to be able to add energy to your rituals.
Just the simple fact that YOU are excited about the item makes it
very powerful to YOU.

It is really up to you what you use in your rituals ... but by
adding items that have meaning to you and help to excite you, can
make a ritual much more powerful and successful.
