Reiki

I had many question about this mysterious treatment called Reiki that I kept hearing about but knew so little.  It was around this time that Donna and Miklos, both Reiki masters, appeared before me and invited me to a Reiki workshop.  I thought what an opportunity to learn first hand about all Reiki secrets.  Not realizing at the time that I would not only receive the answers I seek but so much more.

Reiki meaning Universal Life Force. Is the energy that surrounds all of us all of the time.  This Universal Energy is a gift for us, should we choose to use it.  Given to us to be used for the healing of ourselves and others.  Reiki, accelerates the body's ability to heal and opens the mind and spirit.  It is a natural healing art, based on Ancient Buddhist teachings and is the ability to channel this energy for healing purposes.  Reiki promotes well-being, relieves stress and increases the body’s ability to heal physical ailments.  It induces a stillness of mind, opens your heart to the energies around you and a feeling of profound relaxation. Whether mental, emotional, physical or spiritual everyone can benefit from Reiki practices. The best thing is that everyone has this ability within them, just waiting to be turned on but before you can use this powerful energy.   You must become attuned to the energy first and that is what the Reiki masters teachings and attunements do. They educate and guide you through the attunement process and through the techniques of applying Reiki to yourself and others in the group. Once opened to the energy, Reiki is available to all of us anytime and anyplace.  

With Reiki there is no massaging or physical activity of any kind little effort or concentration is required. It is simply the placing of hands on or slightly above the body so the energy can flow through you as a channel and to another person.  In my experience Reiki is a wonderful warm and penetrating feeling that softens my muscles relaxes my whole body and quiets my mind.   

After meeting with Donna and Miklos in person.  My first question was answered in a very short period of time.  Why did I hear so much about Reiki but know so little about what it really was.  Simplicity.  It was that easy, so simple there wasn't much to know.  One of the things I like the most about Reiki was not that it was simply, or that it felt warm and relaxing, or even that I could apply it virtually anyplace at anytime.  The aspect I liked the most about Reiki is the I can apply it to myself.  Reiki, accelerates the body's ability to heal and opens the mind and spirit.  It has provided me with a means of maintaining balance in my life and a form of relaxation that has helped to relieve some of the stresses in my body that get built up over the day.  I use it as part of my healing and cleansing process to keep my body healthy and my mind relaxed.  Not only have I benefited from Reiki but I have use it on others like my Mother who suffers from Rheumatoid Arthritis of course it didn't cure her but it relieved her, give her a good night sleep and warmth on her ailing joints.  Being able to even give her relief of any kind is more then I could even do before and in the process gives her comfort and more mobility which makes her happier and healthier too.  

I can't say for all Reiki workshops but the one I attended in Coquitlam with Donna & Miklos was relaxing and open. It was a small group that was warm and friendly.  Over the weekend we all shared many stories and experiences with one another over pot luck lunches and afternoon tea.  Top that all off with a couple of Reiki Masters who are fun loving and humorous as well as informative and experienced and you have a weekend to remember and a wonderful gift to take home.
