"Be Sweet" Honey Cakes Ingredients: - 1/2 cup Riesling wine
- 1 large egg
- 2/3 cup flour
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- dash of salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- Cooking oil
For dipping: - 1 cup honey
- 1/8 teaspoon grated nutmeg
Instructions: Beat the wine and egg in a bowl. In a small bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, salt, and sugar. Add flour to the mixture in other bowl. Mix until well-blended. Let stand for 30 minutes. Combine the honey and nutmeg in a small bowl for dipping. Heat 1/2 inch of oil in a skillet until hot, but not smoking. Drop batter into oil 1 tablespoon at a time; fry until golden brown.
