I'm sure by now, everyone is seeing this at the top of all group pages.

A few groups have already been moved with the expected MSN screw ups. Pages missing, members missing. If you want to make sure remain a member of this group, be sure we have your e-mail addy, just in case.

You can send it to [email protected]

We have had a couple of alternative sites for awhile. One is in World Groups, the other is a forum board. Even tho the WG's is similiar to MSN groups and has unlimited storage, I would much rather use the forum board. To join the WG's you have to give a credit card number and I believe (even tho it says join for free) it costs you $1.99 to sign up. And there is the IM in WG's that you can't seem to turn off.

For what we do in here, I believe the forum will work out fine, until something else comes along. (It's just a matter of time before clones of MSN groups start popping up, just like with chat).

You can leave messages, send messages to other members in private, post pictures, just about anything you can do here. Just a little different way of doing them there.

You can join our forum here: http://uni-chat.proboards105.com/

There will be a Navigator at the top of the boards. This is a working web page version of our toolbar. You can watch videos, listen to the radio, insert emoticons in chat or messages, or sign in/go to the Looney Bin chat room.

The Looney Bin will not change.  It is not part of MSN groups. It's open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

You will be reading a lot of things in Help groups. The truth is, Managers of all groups know about as much as members do. We don't get secret messages in e-mails. We take this each day as it comes but at the same time, try to be prepared.

We have had a lot of fun and laughs between here and chat, we would hate to lose that.

I will start a thread for anyone that comes up with an alternative site you would like to see us move to.

I will take this time to Thank all of our members for everything they have contributed.

Thanks to Insane, we have over 210,000 posts in less than 3 years , not many groups can say that.

No matter where we go, we will still be "Family"

Classic

Just out of curiosity, I moved a storage group of mine to Multiply. I HATE IT. I much prefer the Proboard that you created a few days ago. Multiply just isn't for me.

That's it?  I guess I was expecting more.  I'll stick to the new forum you set up for the members.

How do you see how many members are in the Multiply Uni?

I don't know how to do any thing over there. I couldn't find any control panels.
That site looks like it was designed my a 3rd grader.
One thing we can be sure of, if MSN is partners with them, it's gonna be screwed up.

I agree, I have never seen such a mess in my life. I much prefer the group you set up for us on Proboards.

I just migrated my storage site to multiply.....everything transferred over exactly as it was in my msn group...yes I am still in shock...lol......

This site only stores my siggies and a few pictures...it is not very large.....and it has no games to play...so I dont know how that would work..

So I made a posting to the blog on the storage site...and it also posted no problem....just like it would have in the msn group........

So ...I dont know if I am just being blessed this sunday morning....and the other shoe is gonna drop shortly

whoa people, lol... if you give Multiply a little time, I think you might just start to enjoy it. Cabin's been over there playing around with a practice site, and we really like what we see, NOW... absolutely hated it at first, and mean detested it, lol. But, once we got our heads out of our... well, you know, it's really quite easy to navigate and CHANGE to your liking. If you check out the forums, you'll find all kinds of help with how stuff works and new layouts. Do yourselves a favour and check that stuff out. One thing that is really nagging me is, if you want people to join the new site and actually hang around and participate, then we need to consider something; if we all put our new "groups" on different forums, people are not going to sign into different places a dozen times (or how ever many groups they belong to) a day. Every one of the different new forums out there are all set up differently. If people are bitching about learning just one new way of doing things, imagine their faces when they discover that they may have to learn several new "languages"... just thinking out loud here, lol.

I'm an administrator in groups on several of the new formats to host groups once MSN is gone and have been playing around with a few of the possible alternatives for hosting groups that are currently out there and so far haven't found anything as atractive as Multiply ... once you realize that "blog" means "message" then all seems to fall into place ... yes it takes a few visits to figure out where things are and what can and cannot be done there but all in all it's crisp, clear, navigation is easy and it comes with your very own site for you to customize any way you like - the overall presentation of Multiply is very professional looking ... one of the more inviting features in Multiply is the live direct posting in the "blogs/message" section - every post is visible right away without having to refresh the page and as a result it allows for what amounts to a live chatroom - could be the resurgence of chat (keep your fingers crossed) ... there are some new wrinkles with Multiply that we're not familiar with at first but the transition period is minimal

Kitten is correct in that if the object is to keep everyone together after MSN is closed then we all need to stay with one service ... they are all different in some way and require new learning in order to use each ... one I was in yesterday only allowed an individual to post once every 60 seconds so chat was not a possibility there ...

again, I think the biggest fear and what's causing so much grief at the moment is the thought of change ... at our age we don't like change and would prefer the status quo but that's not possible as MSN has decided to throw us all the the side and focus only on things that bring in revenue ... but that's ok though - moving to Multiply, in my opinion, is moving several steps up from MSN Groups ( no more white pages, or "we can't find that page" messages or waiting for MSN to decide if it will allow us to do what we asked it to when we clicked the mouse ) ... as you can tell my suggestion at this point is to give it a chance - the benefits far outweigh the the little bit of inconvenience of having to learn how Multiply works

I read in CF that a few members have created groups in Yuku. I looked around a little, it doesn't seem so bad at first glance. I haven't tried creating a group there yet. Anyone know anything about it?
