We have just been invited to a wedding in malcesine in the lakes area. It will be in late august do you recommend that I stay in this area or somewhere else and travel to the wedding, perhaps touring the lakes, if anyone has any ideas on where to stay. There are 8 of us varying in age from 10 to 42.

Hiyah, one of the highest recommended hotels in Malcasine is the Bellevue San Lorenzo. This particular town is one of the smaller and quieter and if I remember rightly also has smaller hotels. I'll have another look later and get back to you on this, have to pop out now.

We stayed in Bardolino further south on Lake Garda and have driven all the way round this lake in a day stopping here and there for a snack or to look at the scenery. Had a quick look while I'm waiting for the wife to get ready , try these hotels http://en.venere.com/hotels_malcesine/?ref=37333

Still here, the hotel Diana looks to be the best bet out of those, lots of rooms, recently renovated. I remember why we stopped at Malcasine, went up in the lift to the top of Monte Baldo, superb views of the lake and a little stroll on top as well.
