Hi, Its a long time since I last visited Liguria but as I recall I had to fly british Air-ways at that time it was the only option I think it still is the only option for direct flight from Glasgow. One option I was considering was Ryan Air to Pisa then train to Genova but I would only consider this if I was staying out there for at least 2 weeks not viable for a weekend break as you loose a day travelling each way as I'm in Scotland. However as fuel prices continue to rise flights will only get more expensive. So I'm off to Puglia in 5 weeks this should be an adventure. Jacqueline |

Thanks for the observations Jacqueline. British Airways does still seem to be the only option. Should have mentioned we live in North Wales and I really don't want to drive all the way to Stanstead or any of the other London airports so have been looking for a Manchester, Liverpool or Birmingham flight. We visited Puglia about 5 years ago, stayed at a farm just outside Bari, saw the Trulli houses at Alberobello and the caves at Castellana. Also drove to the opposite coast and visited the castle and some churches in Taranto. |

Since there is an excellent train service between Nice (in France) and Genoa then it seems this is a better option. You can get Flights from both Manchester and Liverpool (Easyjet) to Nice so am looking into using this route. Maybe there is a resort on this bit of coastline that would be a bit quieter than Genoa and we could pop on a train into Genoa |
