The slicin' and dicin' and stichin' up are.......all done!!!!!! Yippee, praise the Lord.....it's now behind me.

They were able to get all the borders clear after 2 slices so didn't have to go any deeper or do damage to my eye.

Doctor was able to "repair" me by doing a skin flap which meant he had to cut under my eye in order to get enough skin with which to close the wound.

Now have a presuure bandage on (and will for another 22 hours) am armed with pain killers, ice and a healthy dose of gratitude that the tumor didn't go deeper and cause more trouble then it did..

I was one of the acne sufferers that in the 1950's underwent x-ray treatments in order to kill the acne activity. Now of course we know that x-ray treatments given then are causing trouble now.

I wanted to write this to you, to let you know how much I have appreciated this community and all of your good wishes and positive thoughts.

I read your posts all of the time and have grown to feel close to you all and am realizing that all of us that are suffering from this disease are brothers and sisters and share a bond with each other no matter that we either suffer from basal, squamous or melanoma.

I love you all and am so grateful for the good doctors that take such good care of us and for a community that allows us to come and share our fears, hopes and strengths with each other.

Thank you for being there for me and allowing me to share with you my experience with Mohs surgery and now the aftermath of healing and hope for a healthy future.

As far as I'm concerned we're all champions and very, very brave to endure what we have and are enduring.

I'm so very happy it's over..........at least for now. I'm totally aware of the possibility for re-occurance,, but for now I'm happy.
