Norse Rune Divination
The Norse people used runes to record important events, inscribe names on weapons and monuments, and divine the future. As the year-wheel turns, we have an opportunity to glimpse what lies ahead. Runes are especially suited to this kind of work, as this verse explains:
Rune craft, rune lore, Seek to learn a little more. Rune old, rune true, Whisper what it's coming to.
To preview the coming year, draw twelve runes, and lay them out in a row. The first rune on the left corresponds to January, and so on down the line. Each one suggests the overall tone for that month.
