Winter Divination Lore
Folklore tells us that it will be a long and hard winter if: woolly caterpillars are more black than brown; squirrels gather and bury their nuts early; trees produce an abundance of nuts; the leaves fall late; apple skins are tough; cornhusks are thick; onion skins are thick; birds migrate early; fruit trees bloom in the fall; or the breastbone of a fresh-cooked turkey is dark purple.
Begin your own preparations for winter by cleaning out closets and packing away warm-weather clothing.
Sit in meditation, and decide what aspects of self you are ready to handle this winter. Ask for the guidance and the protection of your gods as you begin to explore your shadow side.
