Merry Meet Madam Mousey: Yes I agree, but for one thing for a mobile homes have such 'thin skin' it's hard to do anything but grin and bear it...short of puting a solar panel on the roof along with a windmill which would be great...you'd still have to insulate to contain heat and cool so I guess it all comes down to good insulating... Madame Mousey! I would suggest putting plastic and than blankets around all the windows. Make sure you have no air leaks at all anywhere if so... might try using some cocking (heheee can't spell it but I'm sure you know what I mean) My electric bill ranges from 20 in the summer to over 100 in the winter due to base board heating. My husband just bought a new heater so we shall see..... an also just run the heat when your there, an since you have the little one should turn it on before he comes home from school, that way it will be warm when he gets there so he doesn't catch a cold or anything. Also make sure everything is winterized too. its going to be a pain of a winter and you'll be feeling it if you don't. Make sure your out door pipes are winterized and everything else you'll be paying the price Oh an another thing... since you have a swamp cooler make sure the vent is covered with plastic and put a towel or something to insulate kinda. Just a few tips to help you out! Love an light, MysticKitten |
