I'm going to post this here because most of my Web friends are members here, and at the other sites this is either a yawner or fodder for fools...

I had another job interview last Thursday. It's a quality assurance position with a fairly large production firm. The requirements are a good match for what I've done in the past, and it includes a lot of process improvement and root-cause analysis, which I have been pretty good at in several other positions.

The interviews went well - met with the typical Lady from HR and with the Quality Manager. Good vibes, normal questions, fairly cabable job of answering the questions.
Now...I wait for a reply sometime this week.

The same day as the interview, I dropped off my resume and cover letter at a former employer - they are looking for someone to do production control work...pays a LOT more than the QA job, and is a continuation of the "career track" I was on with my most recent employer. When I was with the firm that needs a production controller, I had great advancement, terrific reviews, and made quite a "splash." Some of the managers I worked with are the ones who are going to be interviewing candidates for the open position.
I figure that I have a better than 50-50 chance of getting an interview...landing the job is maybe a 30% chance, since there are many people out of work with better credentials and education (but NO prior experience with the employer).

Given the choice (and not saying I will!), I'd chose the production controller job, if only because the pay is 1-1/2x what the QA gig pays. Meanwhile, I've enrolled in one course for the Spring Quarter at my local community college, and will be signing up for a second pretty quickly. I need to keep making progress on the degree, or I'll just be wishing I had it.
Top all of this off with the apartment we live in being part of a foreclosure, and an auction being held later this month to sell the property...odds are high that the new landlords will not keep current tenants, so we may (or may not) have to move.
Just a quiet, calm week at Casa JMC.

Anywho...I just wanted to fill you all in on what's up with me this week, and why I'm not going to be posting quite as much. With so many loose ends, I'm sort of unfocused.
More than I usually am, that is.

Very best of luck with the job of your choice, JMC.

As for the moving thing. I cannot make unconditional promises, but if it is at a time I am able to help...  Early April is problematic. After the 6th, April,  is easier for me to manage. Keep us appraised?

You mean there are still other sites?     Yes, bud, folks here are all your friends, whether or not all your friends are folks here. Another reason it is safer to post personal stuff here is the place is closed to prying by non-members. It is intended for this to be a personal sort of place. Perhaps we could save the more serious political/philosophical/etc. discussions for the Cafe? Believe it or not, and I hesitate to actually say this aloud for fear of sounding stupid, Barista has jogged something loose in my head? I've not tried writing poetry since taking remedial English in college, and then it must have been disastrous beyond my ken. The last couple of days (week?) I have actually written two poems and started a third! Good God Almighty! Xer's finally freaked out!

If able to garner the necessary courage, I may eventually post them here. Yes, GWT would argue this point, it goes without saying stipulation no one ever cut and paste anything from here to any other board is unnecessary as it is a given, but since it is my board, not his, I am making that a permanent rule here. Of course I would not expect constructive criticism if my scribblings do find their way here. Positive strokes only would be appreciated.  Let us not forget the fragility of the beginner's self-esteem! No need to lie of course, if you actually didn't like them you could simply say nothing? However, at this time it remains a moot issue.
