This board will not be deleted, however some suggestions as to how it shoudl be developed would be nice.

It is too relevant of an issue to disregard..

Johnny: It is SO good to hear from you again; we hear from you far, far to seldom. Now do what The Program says: keep coming back. We need you!

lol. I know I know. I picked up my 9 month chip last tuesday, yahhhhhhh. I am doing so much better and i am amazed at how much the program has helped me in more ways than just my booze issues. Yes,i have been kinda busy ,stressed, and distant for some time. Tryin to keep up with all these tests God gives me is tireing.
Anyways. i whent to connecticut to see my bf for 11 days. I did get to one meeting while i was there but wish i had of had time to get to a couple more.My problem this time of the year is kids ,lambs and chicks being born here on my little farm thing. I just had to take one of my dogs to the pound so i am kinda down right now. She kept grabbing chickens from under the wire fence and killing them while i was at work. I knew something was up and knew it was this one dog,i have 2, so off she whent. Living out here in the country, being gay, i could not get rid of both dogs at the same time. I kept the male. If i find any more chickens gone or feathers around my house he is gone too. I will replace the female in time. I really want one of those herding dogs but as of right now i am still recouperating financialy from my back surgery this past november. The final clicker with this animal situation was i came home today to find my domestic mallard, who lives in the field with the goats, sheep, chickens and turkey on the outside of the fence with feathers pulled out round his neck and various injuries. Nothing life threatening but still bad enough i brought him in the house in a kennel so i can get him healed up nice. I have put animal salve on his neck, shouler and tail that had injuries and yanked out feather stems as well as gave him an oral anti biotic injection. He is doing very good and resting nicely in the kenell on the floor at the foot of my bed.
Anyways, this is the type of stuff thats been keepin me away from the comp, not to mention grass growing, fence posts needing mending and such plus my regular full time job.
I aint made it past the 3rd step and find myself sometimes trying to take back control. Slowly i am learning to keep in mind "His will, not mine". I keep tellin myself when i did it my way it never seemed to go well, lol.
Thanks to  everyone for giving me hope in the beggining when all of my hope was gone.

peace bud,
contry.

Contry,

I am really glad to hear that you have the time that you have, and push yourself to get through the 3rd step so that you can really prepare for the 4th, which was really a transformation for me.

Indeed, good to hear from you & I hope your dogs settle down.  I know in my experience once they get blood in their mouth it's an uphill battle.

Stick around here.  I have some more ideas for the site that I will throw around here soon. We're going to dress it up, make it look more pretty, and we'll contemplate putting it into a new register.

"Pretty?" We ain't gonna be a "faming site," are we? Rotten attempt at humor - rough, rough day with notification that three of my clients have died. Time to go to bed. All of you will hear from me tomorrow and, Contry, it really is damn, damn good to have you here! To all, good night and I love you.

The weekend's half gone, and I'm seriously thinking about calling work Monday morning with an alleged illness. And so it goes! Anyway, Contry, you and others who are at your stage in recovery are to be truly commended but can't be expected to understand right now why you are the humbling factor that those of us a little longer in The Program need. Congratulations on the nine months of 24 hours but, remember always, truly one day at a time. I'm not sure that you haven't worked the Third Step at least partially through; you couldn't have amassed nine months worth of 24 hours without turning something over to something you might not yet call a Higher Power. Whatever, don't make the mistake I did in my early days of recovery and bulldozed into that Fourth Step without fully taking the Third, without fully giving up the control I didn't know I still relished. Without that total surrender of the Third, the Fourth in going to turn out to be an immoral inventory instead of the moral one that is called for and which is required to progress through the subsequent eight Steps. Michael, dear buddy, where'd we be without you? Your contributions, experience and basic common sense through your words and the writings you post give some of us the pause to put whatever in their proper perspective. And Brandon, Fearless Leader, we're almost into May and your heavy-duty work schedule hopefully isn't so heavy-duty. We need more of you here, and you need more of us. Because of my own work schedule, what's happening to my sister and my advocacy in the criminal and correctional systems, I don't make my meetings as often as I want. This site is my lifeline so far. I need all of you to stay here and give all of us your "strength and hope." It's been a few years of 24 hours for me but, I learned (the hard way), I can't rest on my laurels and presume I'm "cured." It's still a miracle to me, though, that despite those 24 hours behind me, I continue to remember what a moment of "weakness," "temptation" or whatever else anyone wants to call it will take me. I don't have any desire to go through that again. Something someone said once sticks in my brain, and it's gospel: we all have another drunk in us, but all of us might not have another recovery. Words of wisdom!

Thanks for your words Chris and of course thankyou for all of your contributions to the site!

Yes, I am a government droid and the long work schedule will continue, however I probably won't have to be traveling throughout most of the summer.

We're going to turn into a very busy site I think if we switch registers. I wanna be prepared for that.

Let me know when a good time for you to chat is (I know it's impossible to get us on the site at the same time) & we can use the site chat room..

Brandon

hey y'all,
I have a question. Is it possible that when someone replies to a post that the post they reply to is listed in the same email ? On other groups i am on ,say someone posts, then another member replies, then someone may reply to what the first reply was and have nothing to do with the original post. It makes it so much easier to see what the actual conversation is. Im not sure if i am explaining this right so let me know if you need another example, lol.
          good journey,
              johnny b

I know exactly what you mean, Johnny, but I'm no more than "minimally adequate" on these new-fangled gizmos called 'puters. I'll defer to Fearless Leader to handle this one.

Contry,

If understand your question correctly, no unfortunately every post is a separate e-mail, However the title of the thread stays the same and should be included in your e-mail..

I have stated for a long time back when MSN was a total catastrophe that members needed to log onto the site to respond for a couple of different reasons.

1)  Members were not getting their e-mails in order and when they responded MSN wasn't posting them in order.  Many were coming to the site 2-3 days later if at all.

2) If you come to the site, you can see the threads in order first hand.

To date, we are still having problems with the e-mail system.  Announcements and Manager's e-mail stopped working all together some time back, and the genuis's at MSN are still scratching their heads with a promise that someday they will have it all fixed.

Again place the URL in your Favorites and just log onto the site....
