Folks,

We have created a back up group that mirrors this site as much as possible.  It does not have the fancy bells and whistles that MSN has but it is functional and based on pretty solid research, the host (Google) is rated the most reliable.  We need this, especially if all goes to hell during the MSN/Multiply transition.

There is a subscription service on the Google group that I haven't quite figured out but it would serve those who only want to receive e-mails from certain threads.  I know that has been requested; however MSN Groups has never adopted that technology.

Anyone is welcome to join.  Google has a smaller but solid audience.  Perhaps it will continue to grow as I believe they've only been "open" a couple of years.

Anyhow, myself, Ed, and Sophie (when she joins up) will play with the group.  The more that join the more we'll play  Obviously, if the Google Group becomes more popular then more attention will be played there.

Moreover, we need your feedback!  Please let us know how you like the functionality of the Google Group versus the MSN Group and soon to be Multiply Group.  We will weigh your opinions in particular regarding the level of importance you place on "functionality" versus "technical options."

The Google Group offers basically the same services but lacks the aesthetic capability of MSN so it will be interesting to see what is most important to you all.

Anyhow, check it out, join, and let us know what you think!  Click below:

Well so far, I haven't heard anything from you all.  Will somone please attempt to join the new group so that we can see if the function works?

I joined so the function works.  However, I very seldom check my Google account, so for now I will still read posts via MSN.

Mark,

You can have your gmail forwarded to your regular email account.

Thanks Mark and Ed  I believe and Ed can correct me if I'm wrong, we're going to leave this as a backup group in case the transition to Multiply in the coming months does not go well or if you all prefer Google.

So, as said we'll play with it if there is an interest.  The Google Group audience so far hasn't signed up; however, we just set it up so we'll see.  The site counter is fairly hot for a brand new site.

Perhaps we'll post some things there and see what we can do.
