Airborne, a trick or two to alleviate your problem with your computer freezing up as stated in the Illyia board... go to the control panel folder of your computer and select " Internet options" Icon...under the " advanced" tab, you can select Internet Explorer to not display pictures, this will help you ACROSS THE BOARD on the Internet, I have everything turned off... animation, sounds, image dithering etc. when I want to rock and roll.

Another thing that I do all the time when my computer locks is, control alt delete and select "Explorer" then click "end task" and when the shut down  screen appears, click "cancel" and everything will be re-booted without shutting down your computer, very handy... very very handy! If you have an active desktop it will have to be re-activated, something should appear on your screen giving you the option to do so with just a click.

Thanks Bob?  I'm not the only one this happens to?

I like looking at the pictures though.  If I select "do not display" am I then not able to see any pictures?  It's funny, because when I go to websites I can look at pictures and scroll them, etc.  There are some websites that I go to though and it happens. I talked to DELL about this and of course they say there's nothing wrong with the computer, that I need to contact my provider, or I have too many things going on with my computer, "try disconnecting stuff and they wanted me to remove icons and the other stuff at the lower righthand bottom of my screen.

Anyway, what I've got is the DELL Dimension XPST 700R...this is a 700mz machine with plenty of memory, or doesn't that matter?  It's frustrating as hell because I have to almost avoid posts with pics in them...the complicated ones that is.  Thanks for the advice.

November Oscar Airborne, when you have that option selected all you need to do is right click individual pictures and choose "show picture"...

the pictures that Illyia has uploaded are very large and that is why your computer is having a hard time displaying them through MSN's server, which isn't so hot..at  WWW.downloads.com, there is a program called memturbo which defragments your RAM...everybody needs of this program, I have 256 MB and I still use it all the time... if you have any questions at all about computers just ask, if I don't know I WILL find out ... I'm also going to open up a message board at Illyias for Windows help hints and questions... one thing, I do have problems with the installation of MSN updates and Internet Explorer updates, I've run into some problems with them that I've never figured out! but anything that I can do to be useful is cool with me!
