I know it's spooky clicking around on Windows but I had a little advantage, I bought a partitioning program which gave me the ability to install Windows four times on my computer. Each completely separate of each other, except for cookies! Those damn cookies.

But anyhow, I was able to have three separate installations of windows that I could experiment with so there was no fear of screwing something up and locking myself out of the digital world. All the new friends, trading online... all the pictures of naked women!!!!! I've done... things, in this chair. Not my fault, God's plan , procreation and what not.

The only way to be at ease with your computer is to

1) store important stuff on another disk

2) learn how to install Windows, when I have a problem I can't figure out ,I dump Windows

3) most importantly, partition your hard drive or purchase a spare computer!

When I hear people talking about a virus they sound like it's going to affect their children! The fears of a glitch, losing something important, losing contact... partition your hard drive!, there are several partitioning programs out there, I use system Commander... it's so small it comes on a floppy disk. BUT! It does something very scary! It takes your "master boot record" renames it, and stores it on your hard drive... somewhere! Then it replaces it with its own. So when I turn on my computer I see four choices, I pick one, that makes a reference to the master boot of that particular partition... master boot record (this is the thing that basically tells your computer it's a computer and not a refrigerator)

My lesson learned... I decided to remove the program for the heck of it and I was so new I just found the program files and deleted them... thus deleting my master boot records... and when I turned this baby off I was storing meat.DOS only... But after paging through six feet of DOS books from DOS for dummies to DOS for rocket scientists I stumbled onto one little thing...FORMAT UC... unconditional format... kind of like Rush Limbaugh's ear operation, if this no work you screwed.... And here I am!

About memory problems. Here you go, memturbo... I give to you... memturbo ... a 30 day trial... but
