You click on a JPEG, or GIF while you're on the Internet and the darn thing replaces your Internet window with it
click
Starts/settings/folder options... click the" file types" tab... window opens
scroll down to that particular extension and double-click it (you're looking at all the different files that your computer recognizes)
click "edit"
remove the check mark from " use DDE", but first you might want to copy and paste what is in the Windows displayed, and remember which window they were in
DDE MEANS DYNAMIC DATA EXCHANGE... allows applications to open each other's files
Disclaimer: computers are stupid and intolerant, make your changes carefully and remember what you did, better yet, try them on someone else's computer!
