Hi, the candyman is here with a bunch of sweets for you folks.  First of all, there is a great little toy called pop-up stopper free from www.panicware.com and you Outlook Express users who get upset because you can't unsubscribe, go up to the "Message" button up top and drag down "block sender."  This is real handy for those religious sites that feel they have to send you a soul saving message (don't get me wrong, I need it-just don't want to hear it over and over etc.) every five minutes.

Did you know that most of the unwanted mail you get you asked for?  Caused by little programs that attach themselves to your 'puters, they're called spyware.  Then there's Ad-Aware v5.62, pull the plug on "spyware" with this small, free tool.  Spyware are small, hidden programs embedded in larger applications for the purpose of reporting information to advertisers.  Available at http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_description.asp?fid=7423

Most of you folks already have a program for getting rid of unwanted files and cookies.  It may be Clean Manager, Clean Sweep or Disk Clean-up.  You can find it using "search" or "find" or by going to: Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools and locating it there.

A word about installing a Norton Anti-virus when there was already one installed and removed.  There is another step that must be taken and most store personel don't know it.  In fact the Symantic people have to send you to someone (geek) who can help you.  Go to: Start/Programs/Accessories/Windows Explorer/On the left screen open: My Computer/Main or "C" drive/Program Files/Common Files/Symantec Shared/Virus Defs.  At the top of a host of items, you will see a number or group of numbers similar to the following: 20000713.068  Delete it or them, but nothing else.  Afterward, you may Install your new Norton (or reinstall your old).

Happy surfing!
