The problems I had were monumental.  I found that there was a procedure that finally worked well.  I contacted my new ISP and procured the mail server settings.  Outlook Exp. is linked to Internet Explorer.  I went to the IE - tool/internet options/connections/set-up and changed my ISP through the wizard.  Then went into the tools/internet options/connections/remove and kept only my new ISP.  Then to Outlook Express - tools/accounts/remove and kept only my new ISP.  Everything is working fine now.

What I did the first time (and it really screwed things up) was to try setting my new ISP up as a new connection through the Dial-Up Network icon in the Control Panel/Dial-Up Network folder.  Everything locked up repeatedly.  I tried going to the "A" prompt in DOS and typing in "scanreg/restore" (no help).  Finally, I restored my computer to an earlier date.  That stopped all of the locking, but my Norton failed.  I had to reinstall Norton.  If you are familiar with Norton, you know that there are files that must be deleted prior to install or it won't work properly.  Fortunately, I have found through massive amounts of tinkering with Restore, that there is an easy procedure to follow.  Then, I had to download a ton of LiveUpdates.  That took a couple of hours, but I had my brother and a friend on MSN Messenger to talk to while I did that.  Finally, I updated my Rescue disks and ran a complete virus scan on my 'puter.  During this whole melee, I also found time to purchase 100 shares of IBM.

Anyway, I had an interesting day.

Jeeze.. after all that, didn't you at least find that you somehow owned 1000 shares of Msft bought at $15.00 a share????  Now THAT would have made it all worthwhile!
