I do, and I know two of my three sisters do, but thats about it.  I am surprised that the Olympics don't get more attention.  I have been watching for a very long time, but remember 1976 as the first time I really got into it.

The relay race this morning was fabulous.  We beat the French who told the world they would slaughter us.

I had it on all weekend.  I'm more interested in the swimmintg competion and sit on the edge of my seat watching Michael Phelps.  That kid is amazing.  But what is truly amazing is that female swimmer who is in her 40's.  I was glad to see that the US beat the Chinese in the basketball game.  The opening cermonies were spectacular.  The man who created the show is actually from China but he came to America and became a American Citizen.  It was the Chinese people who asked him to return to do the show.  What was so confusing is the leage of nations.  Not being in alphabetical order was confusing!

I watched Phelps as I think the whole world must have and really was sitting on edge of chair!   loved shots of his mother's reaction.
I also liked the gymnastics.   Such grace and strength!   Also liked the syncronized swimming today.   I usually watch it with "mute" on as the crowds noise gets to me.   I have CC and can read what is going on without the noise.   I will be glad to see Jay Leno and some other shows pre-empted again.
Wonder what they will do for closing ceremonies?

There is one thing that took place at the Olympics that I really found upsetting and so I'll rant here and move on.    During the opening ceremonies they had a little girl sing.   Well that little girl was lip singing.   Why?   Because the girl who had the amazing voice we heard wasn't cute enough!    The Chinese lost a lot of my respect when I heard that revelation.  sputter......   OK I'll end my rant.

I agree, that was just terrible.  By the way, Michael Phelps is hosting the season premiere of Saturday Night Live on Sept. 13.

I don't usually watch Saturday Night Live but that sounds like an episode that should be interesting.
I understand that some of the fireworks were fake.
