On Saturday September 20th my 15 year old step-sister was with some friends. That night they were watching the movie Saw when her 18 year old friend walked into the kitchen grabbed a knife and slit his own throat. The 5 friends watched in horror as this happened. The 4 girls that were there are all 15 while the guy there is 19. Sunday night as my mom an I watched the Emmy's I heard sobbing coming from my mom's room and knew something was wrong. My mom went to talk to her and found out that the guy had died in the hospital. Since that day my step-sister hasn't been the same and I have been so worried about her. She has missed 2 days of school, talked to a social worker on Tuesday and missed her curfew last night. I might not have been there and I might not have known the guy but it still hurts to see my step-sister like this. I don't know what to do or say. It's just too hard.

Your step sister is going to need some time and help.  She is still in shock. What a violent act to witness.  The family should really speak to the school.....maybe a teacher she likes....to help her to get the help she needs to get over this horrible event.
I will keep her in my prayers.

That is awful, the poor girl must be so traumatized.  She will need help, time and lots of love to help her get over this. Talk with the school counselor and perhaps her physician can recommend areas of help. I will pray for her. All you can do is be there for her when she needs you for a hug or to talk

That is a very sad and tragic story. I hope your step sister gets some professional help dealing with her trauma and grief. You are a good sister to be so worried about her.

I'm so sorry. That is so sad.

I would strongly suggest she gets therapy really soon. Hugs are in order too and plenty of them.

That is tragic and so sad. I'm sure it's going to take awhile for your step sister to get over this and even then, she'll probably never forget what happened.
Just be there for her if she needs someone to lean on.
Sheryl

Thanks everyone. It has been a difficult week for us and we are just getting by. I still can't believe what happened. She seems to be doing better since she talked with her school's grief councelor. Thanks again for your prayers.

OMG, that is so sad. That poor guy must of been really going through something terrible to go and do that in front of friends. My thoughts are with you and your step sister. Get her some professional help as soon as you can.

Maria
