I thought her twin  Samantha put her in the nut house and pretented to be Dr. Evans.  I think it was Roman who saved her. I remeber watching the show when they killed  her off. Every one thought it was Marlena turns out it was Samantha. Or Him I confussed?

Actually, Marlena was engaged to attorney Don Craig when her twin sister, Samantha showed up in Salem.  I believe this was during the late 1970's.  Samantha was very jealous of Marlena's success as a psychiatrist as well as her relationship with the very handsome attorney.  She gave Marlena some of her sedatives and posing as Dr. Evans, had her sister committed to Bayview Sanitarium, explaining to all the doctors that when she woke up she would tell them all she was Dr. Evans when she was in fact Samantha.  When Marlena awakened and remembered what happened, of course none of the doctor's believed her.  Meanwhile, Samantha resumed Marlena's life.  It seemed to take forever until Don Craig figured out that Marlena was in the sanitarium  She nearly went over the deep end while there.  Once Don freed her and Samantha was locked up in the sanitarium, he and Marlena married.  Sometime later, Samantha was released and came to Salem to visit Marlena.  She was killed by the Salem Strangler who believed she was Marlena.

Correct I was talking to my  Mom and she told me the same thing. I thought I  was a little confussed , It was a long time ago. But, It sure was a great show.  Thank for helping Jolt my memeory. Linda
