Its that time of year again.  Lots of booze in the shops, maybe you're going to try something a little different this year.  If you're having friends around, why not do something a little different and have a few cocktails. 

Place all your cocktail ideas here, be it punch or eggnog, lets grab a glass and get merry!

Mulled Cider
 
2 Litres of cider or fresh apple juice.
2 apples studded with cloves
5 allspice berries
4 cinnamon sticks
zest of one orange
dark rum (optional)
sliced apple for garnish
 
Combine all ingredients but not the apple in large pan and simmer gently for 30 mins.  Do not boil.  Serve in a large heatproof bowl and ladle into glass punch mugs.  Garnish with the apple slices.

Sangria
 
1 bottle of Rioja or red wine
2tbsp lime juice
2 shots of bacardi (white rum)
Random fruit, whatever you like
 
Mix all together and leave in fridge overnight, add ice and serve!

 Jungle Cooler
 
4 parts pineapple juice
2 parts fresh orange juice
One part passion fruit squash
One part coconut milk
A slice of pineapple
Crushed Ice
 
Place a cup of crushed ice in a cocktail shaker
Add all the fruit juices and the coconut milk and shake very well.
Strain into tall glass and decorate witht he slice of pineapple

Brass Monkey
 
One part white rum
one part vodka
Four parts orange juice
A slice of orange
ice cubes
 
Fill a highball glass with ice cubes, pour in the rum, vodka and orange.  Stir carefullly and serve with the slice of orange on side of glass and a straw.
