Well most of you regulars know that Sarge had his left foot operated on.  A major reconstructive surgery. It has been 4 months now and he still has not healed up completely. But when you look back a couple of months when he was in a wheel chair and then went to crutches just being without a cast on his leg is a major improvement. Right now he has a big steel and velco boot on his left leg and foot. With this monster he can navigate with just one crutch and inside around the house does a good job with no crutch and just a slow hobble.
But after more than four months he is getting a little tired of people  (some complete strangers) asking him what happened to his foot.  At first he made light of it and told them that his wife put her foot down. Ha Ha. but even that joke got old. Today at the VA hospital he got on the elevator and the guy riding up with him asked the question. "What happened to your foot?"
Sarge didn't turn a hair when he said, "Nothing, that is a ankle holster for a 500 S&W."
The guy got off at the next floor.
Must have been a Navy Vet. or something.
Sarge

From the look on his face he was aware of what a Smith & Wesson was. LOL
I am planning to take an old set of grips and attach them to a piece of steel sheet metal. Then slip it down into my steel and velco "boot" so just the grip sticks out. That out to raise a few eyebrows. LOL
