~Chicken & Bread Dressing~
- 1 large hen or 2 small fryers
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup onion, diced
- 1 cup celery, diced
- 3 cups crumbled up cornbread
- 3 cups crumbled up biscuits
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp poultry seasoning
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 cups chicken stock
Boil chicken until done; reserve stock. When cool remove chicken from bones. Combine with all other ingredients: Mix well. Refrigerate overnight. Pour mixture into a large buttered baking pan. Bake at 400 degrees until done. 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Use more stock if you want your dressing to be 'wetter'
