This is wonderful, and uplifting for anyone who's lost a beloved pet.

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to
Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who hadbeen ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they miss someone very special to them who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent, the eager body quivers. Suddenly she
begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, her legs carrying her faster and faster. YOU have been spotted and when you and your
special friend finally meet you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again
caress her beloved head and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you pass over Rainbow Bridge together....

Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high,
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue.
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.
Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops,
Away above the chimney tops.
That's where you'll find me.
Somewhere over the rainbow,
Bluebirds fly.
Birds fly over the rainbow,
Why then - oh, why can't I?
If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow,
Why, oh, why can't I?

Remeber Me
I was chosen today,
I'm learning to fly,
The world took me away,
but please don't you cry.
And I chose you today
to try and be strong
so please don't you cry
and don't say that I'm gone.
When you're feeling alone,
just remember our love.
I'm up near the stars,
looking down from above.
Remember our love,
In a moment you'll see,
that I'm still here beside you
when you're thinking of me.

Butchie, you are in my thoughts today.  I know how difficult this is to lose a beloved pet who has brought you so much joy.

Hugs,

I have read that before Marci and I think it is beautiful.
Butchie I am sorry that Sonic is going to have to go. He is a beautiful dog and I know that you loved him even tho he was a worry sometime. That is exactly why I will never have another pet. It is just too hard to see them die.
Thinking of you,
Queenie

It is hard to lose a companion of many years...but you have done the kindest thing.
