Gentle Friend

 

we have walked together for some time now

The tick of the clock so slow to march the days moving past

There was a joy in knowing that we would always love each other

No condition could muddle that one

 

I remember smiling at your ways

The joy you would have in what would seem the simplest things

Those are the times I will miss the most

When joy overcomes my bad days

 

Gentle friend I will miss you dearly

There is a pain I will always have in thinking of you

You may have gone to a better place as they say

But you will always be missed in this one
