It's a fact that Christ died for my sins.

Since He did indeed die for my sins, He died for all of them, not some of them.

He died for them before I ever committed them.

Therefore, having believed on Jesus Christ through faith and having my faith counted as righteousness, it is impossible for me to be lost, even if I sin.

Why?  Because my sins have been paid for already and I can't be charged with them.

Therefore, my living right or living wrong has nothing to do with my making it to heaven or not.  If it did, then surely I must live perfect, without any shadow of sin whatsoever.  Which would also mean that Christ did not pay for my sins, and I earned heaven on my own.

So I conclude there is only one reason for "living right" after I have been saved--and that is because God has changed my heart and made me a partaker of the divine nature and now I want to live right and please God.  Not to make it to heaven--Christ guaranteed me that because He died for my sins.  I go to heaven on His Cross, not on my "good" life.

But I have a good life because God changed me from the inside out.

This is good if you are able to receive it.

If you can't receive it, then you will continue to think your good behavior gets you into heaven and not the suffering of Christ on the Cross as He poured out His lifeblood's on the behalf of sinners.

We are responsible for our actions. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Yes, we are responsible.

And that is why we need a Saviour.  The leper cannot heal himself.
