Doz,

Thank you for the welcome back. It is very good to be home.

Actually, I did read quite a lot of your Revelation study. I just couldn't agree with much of it.

Isaiah 60:14 actually says ..."they will be called the city of the LORD. It doesn't say they ARE the city. No more than Los Angles, California is the City of Angels, even though it is called that.

Isaiah 60:14 The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee; The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

Look at verse 60:10-11.

Isaiah 60:10 And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee.

Isaiah 60:11 Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought.

Isaiah 60:21 is talking about the people.

Isaiah 60:21 Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

The context of Isaiah is the land in which Israel will dwell. Israel is neither the land nor the city, but as a people they will inhabit the city. They, the people, don't have walls or gates. The City does, and Israel is the Bride.

The problem in understanding comes when one does not recognise that there are actually three churches in Scripture. The Church which was in the wilderness, the Church which was at Jerusalem and the Church which is the Body of Christ.

In Christ,

Cindy
