Imagine...
And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. So He began to teach them many things.
Mark 6:34
Imagine a world without electricity or automobiles, computers, or airplanes. It's next to impossible for most of us to even fathom, but that is the world we would live in if Benjamin Franklin, Karl Benz, Konrad Zuse, and Orville Wright had kept their knowledge and ideas to themselves. Knowledge doesn't do a whole lot of good kept to ourselves-it has to be shared.
It is the same with our knowledge of Jesus Christ. If Hudson Taylor, Billy Graham, and Jim Elliott had all decided to keep what they knew about God to themselves, the world might never have had the advancement of the Gospel in China, the crusades that have reached 210 million people, or an active ministry to a formerly savage people, the Auca Indians.
Jesus cares so much about the salvation of lost souls and the spiritual growth of believers that He has asked us not to just sit back and enjoy our own relationship with the Lord but, out of love and compassion for others, to take our spiritual knowledge and the gift of eternal life to a world in need.
God loves you tenderly. What He gives you is not to be kept under lock and key but to be shared.
