#1 of 4 Meditations on 2 Tim 1:20-21.
Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:20-21?STRONG>In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay?

Reflection: With over 90% accuracy I can tell one thing about you if you are a home owner. Your house is full of stuff—sometimes I use the word junk, but you will have to sort out how this applies to you. How long does it take if you buy a bigger house, for stuff to expand and fill the empty space? Do you have the garage and attic full also? If
you have lived in the same house for 20 years try not to die
unexpectedly and leave the mess to your family.

Some people can't throw anything away and some collect tea pots. It was no different in the first century—a large estate had exquisite gold goblets, silver decorations embedded in the furniture, kitchen tools, tiny glass perfume bottles, jewelry and expensive fabrics. In the same house were crude utensils and tools—clay lamps, wooden rakes for removing cow dung from the barn, pots for watering the geese. In
God's house, there's stuff—and it's you and me.

Prayer Starter: Father, I am grateful for my existence. Whether clay pot or golden spoon, I know I belong in your house. Amen.
