Knowing the answers, is one thing ?BR>But having the victory ?well that is something else!
!!!
In the world there is no shortage of catchy slogans ?BR>?or of great sayings ?BR>?most of which are based on scriptural truths ?BR>And ?BR>The world has brilliant T-shirt slogans ?BR>?which they try to live up to ?BR>?even though they seldom succeed!
!!!
Whilst the Church which has the power and ability ?BR>?to live up to those slogans ?BR>?often seems to be defeated even before they start!
!!!
Why is that so?
Are we missing something somewhere?
Are we the ones the Apostle Paul was talking about, who ?/FONT>
?having a form of godliness but denying its power?BR>?led away by various lusts, always learning
and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
--- 2 Tim. 3:1-8
?or more likely, those whom James was referring to ?/FONT>
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting,
for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;
--- James 1:6-8
Having a brilliant slogan is only the beginning ?BR>?you have to add God’s Word, His promises to it ?/FONT>
For the word of God is living and powerful ?
--- Heb. 4:12
?you also have to add substance to your words ?/FONT>
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
--- Heb. 11:6
And ?most importantly ?BR>?you have to add action to your words ?/FONT>
But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?
?Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness ?BR>…You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.
--- James 2:20-24
A good confession (slogan) is good ?BR>?add God’s Word, faith and action to it ?BR>?and you will have the victory the world does not have!
