I was raised in a small Southern Baptist church, only to realize later in life the errors in that denomination. When I was 24, I heard the true word of God, I believed in Jesus with all my heart, repented of my wicked sins, confessed in the name of Jesus, and was "baptized into Christ" "for the remission of sins" (Rom 10:17;  John 3:16;  Luke 13:3; 24:47; Rom 10:9, 10; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; 22:16; Gal 3:26, 27). According to the promise of the Holy Spirit and the specific command of my Savior, Jesus, "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved", I was saved by the blood of Jesus, by grace through faith in him who died for me (Eph. 1:7; 2:5, 8, 9; Acts 19:5; 2:38, and the Ephesians who were "baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus," "for the remission of sins" and who were said to be saved by grace).

I am not a member of any denominational church of any kind, either Catholic or Protestant. Neither will I ever be a member of any such church or denomination, whether that of Martin Luther, John Wesley, John Calvin, Joseph Smith, Charles Russell, John Smyth, or Alexander Campbell. Neither the apostles or any 1st century Christians were ever members of such man-made bodies, nor am I. I am a member of the church or body of Christ, the one Jesus promised to build, the one he purchased with his own blood (Matt 16:18; Acts 2:47; 5:11; 20:28; Eph 5:23-25). I was "baptized into one body," the church (1 Cor 12:13; Eph 1:22, 23; 2:16; 3:6; Col 1:18).

It is a pleasure to be here amongst you.

Mr. Bigglesworth

Hi, Mr. Bigglesworth!

Nice to have you on board. =)  My name is Redeemed because I believe that I was redeemed by the Blood of Jesus and all my sins are washed away in the Blood of the Lamb.

I was baptized by immersion, I think, in 1975 or 1976 shortly after I was saved.  I believed that when I was baptized, it symbolized my identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection and also believe that it doesn't add to my salvation but to my identification with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, kind of like a marriage ceremony before witnesses.

I loved your use of verses.

Love,
Redeemed

Hi MrBigglesworth,

Pleased to meet you.  I also do not belong, nor ever have belonged to any denominational church and am not a follower of anyone, other then the Lord Jesus Christ.  I do however disagree with you that water baptism has ought to do with salvation.  I was saved in November of 1977 and was not baptized until May of 1978. Since I did not join any church, not having the slightest idea at the time which church to set foot in, I had to learn the basic scriptures in order to make sure I was going to be where the Lord wanted me.  I had a desire to be baptized after I learned from scripture, that being baptizing means to identify with the death and resurrection of Christ, dying to self and raising in newness of life, and I couldn't wait to identify myself with Christ.  It I had Phillip with me,like the eunoch did,  maybe I would have been baptized immediately. Also, the eunoch had done much Scripture studying before Phillip came along.  The Lord had prepared his heart and sent Phillip to him. The Lord had already saved the eunoch prior to him being baptized, just like he saved me 6 months before I was baptized.

Love in the Lord, Marianne

ugh, those darn typos again, stemming from not proof reading.
