One more distributor question. I have been corresponding w/Pertronics about thier electronic ignition kit. They need to know model number. Does anyone have this info for a '66 Hitachi waterproof? |

Never mind. I found the info in my owners manual. Amazing what you can find when you look. |

Hey, let me know if you find out the WP distro work with the pertronics kit. I think I heard through the grapevine that it won't. I beleive you need the P40 motor distro. This info would be very helpful if you can get it to work. Thanks,

Hey Andy, They have asked for a photo of points. I will send sometime today and let you know what they say. I tried to follow all the threads in reference to this modification but in the end I figured I would just try it myself when needed. I'll let you know what I find out. Pete |

I have been unable to locate points for the WP distro. I have some very, very old Hitachi points in my distro now....almost worn through the contact. Have you found something that will work?

Points should still be available through Nissan - I ordered some not too long ago. The part number is: 22145-58000. It's the condensor that is hard to find, but pretty much any condensor that will fit will work.
Re: Pertronix. I have been down that road with them before. I gave them the model number of the WP dizzy, and they said that they didn't have anything listed that would work. But they said if I could bring them a dizzy, they could probably find one that fit, or make one custom. I live about 30 miles from Pertronics... |

Thank you. I finally found a company in Australia. I ordered all the parts
I needed over the internet and they sent me the parts. You may want to keep the
information. The company's information is:
Motorcare 4WD
163 Abbotsford Road
Bowen Hills, QLD 4006
Thanks for your interest. Spike Lynch

Spike,
Thanks for posting this info. I contacted Richard Oliver at Motorcare and ordered a bunch of distributor parts. They arrived as per order in just a couple of days from Queensland, AU. Very cool!! Obviously a bit of freight involved but they have it all and are quick to ship.
Regards, Jeff |
