A perfect match to stock equipment

Went to local parts store-standard 3/16 O.D. x 40" perfect fit after bending over the rear housing.Smaller nuts-uses 3/8(10mm) wrench instead of 7/16(11mm).

OK ... I see info here on using a Chev I-6 Distrib. for a late 70's early 80's. I used the 240Z on one of my patrols and have the chevfor the other. Only the chev is way too long and it seems several inches would have to be cut off while leaving a few inches of the inner shaft? Then the shaft I assume would have to be ground down to make a slot for the original gear. HAS ANY ONE DONE A CHEV DISTRIB. If so how many inches did you cut off and how many inches of the inner shaft did you leave? And how did you bolt it down. Was the firing order the Same? Can anyone give me a blow by blow instruction of how they did it. And cutting off that much, what about the oil port? This sight has good ideas but what we need is a more intensive discription on conversion of parts to keep these things on the road. I am also still working on the length of the 240Z flat metal part to match the two female ends. Its seems its all trial and error. But it seems to work with a housing I made and a tube to go over the piece of metal to keep it in place. ( I broke the plastic one that was on the distrib. So I made a metal one and pinned it where the plastic one was. But now want to try the Chev if some one has done it. Email me at [email protected]   

Its meant for Ford/Lincoln/Mercury. It needs modification to fit though. Take a pair of scissors and cut between the the very outer and middle rings. Cut the outer ring off. Put it in the cap, and put it back on the master cylinder.  -Jon

nothing else is like having  the right part

Somewhat spendy for a v-belt, but a perfect fit and heavy duty.

The plugs in the side of the engine are 40.8mm (555-095) and the two  plugs at the rear (head and block) are 50mm (555-094).  Purchased them over the counter at O'Reilly Automotive.

Went to my local parts store with old 3.5" hose. Two foot would work but got 30" to have extra room for mess ups. Real tight fit. Only.38 per inch.

Outside left and right mirrors. Toyota FJ40 WINDSHIELD mount bolts right up to the windshield lower hinge, no modification necessary. Door doesn't hit it (if you still have the door stops in place), and you can still lower the windshield. They are Toyota parts, but you can get them from Specter Off-Road. Mount part number is 166-02A, round mirror PN 166-01B/C, rectangular mittor PN 166-01A.
