I have seen some interesting talk about Aimoo in community feedback ... seems they to now will move your group and that they have posting boards very simular to msn ... Here is a link to Community Feedback on that subject if you would like to read more ... The one called "clear rainbow " seems to know a quite a bit about Multiply and Aimoo

I need to check these places out if I can without joining some group ... but I am still looking and watching at Community Feedback ... They are suppose to be compiling a list of the top places to go , from places people send in and that they check out ... But you guys need to help if you can ... This is a group move and I appreciate any help I can get from all of you on this ... If you find a site that looks right, let me know ... I hear alot more good about that YUKU also now

I'm in a psp group in Yuku.  It's not all that bad, but does take some getting use to.  The one thing you can't do is make pages.  Personally I am waiting to see what Windows Live Groups will be like before I make any kind of decision.

I am watching Community Feedback as well, to find out what would be best.  If I can't make pages and such then I am going to be in a bit of trouble as I use MSN groups to make pages and such for a website that I look after for a baseball organization.

Thanks Dreanmer and if you hear anymore about this windows live thing, let us know  ... and yeah, looks like adding graphics of your own or anything are not going to happen in any of these places that I can see so far, like how we do in MSN ... Most all just look like forums but atleast , looks like we can play games like on here etc so far ... just none of the other stuff is all like game room links and special pages like here, like the An' Ye Harm None page and the fantasy links pages, My Best Friend page, etc I will miss those kind of things .... and looks like any hope of contact with Juli may be lost now if this group is removed from here

I joined a couple groups in Multiply , to see what it was like ... I did not really like what I saw there ... but then again, I am not sure anyone was posting or anything or how the threads look or if that is how it works ... to confuse you ... lol

I ended up deleting Multiply....one of the graphics groups I belonged to moved there and it is just way to confusing and not fun at all.  Still waiting to see if Corel comes up with groups like MSN has.

I think I will do the same ... Aimoo looks pretty easy... but I heard that windows live groups are opening today ... so I may have to go check out what that is all about now ... as far as Corel... some in Comm Feedback say that it would be a waste of time for Corel to do that cuz only like 2-3% of their business comes from msn groups ... so who knows ... have to just wait and find out ... I may start to make a little stuff in one of my storage groups and move it to Aimoo and Yuku and see what it is like.... if I get the extra time to do it ... lol

I inquired about moving to a couple different places at once ... seems like maybe that can be done... still waiting for a little more info on people who are going to try it ... Then maybe I can migrate the Garden into Multiply, Aimoo and maybe Yuku if they migrate the group ... they said that the msn one still stayed here after they move first time ... so we will see ... I hear Dec 1st, tha tWindows Live is going to start a group site ...but supposedly only for 20 or less members per group ... we will see what that is about ... It is not the same as windows messenger groups... I did not know there were any of those...lol but they said they are not the same and I guess the messenger ones are not very good

OK, more not so good news .... Seems people are complaining about ads in these new places ... seems Yuku is bad ... you get the first 30 days there ad free ... after that, people are leaving cuz the ads they put in, are being embedded into your posts and backgrounds etc and scrunching everything up to the left of the page ... and if you want them ad free, you have to pay like $5.00 a month to keep the ads out ... I guess Aimoo is the same, but not quite as bad as Yuku ... Yet anyhow .... greedy bastards ... these places must all be run by msn

I like the layout better in Yuku then in Aimoo, but you can't put backgrounds in there and the ads are awful.  The group I am in is now paying not to have them.(some of the members donated money to help pay for ad free).

In Aimoo you can put backgrounds.  It's a bit to set everything up, but it is workable.  I haven't experienced the ads in Aimoo yet.  You would be able to put alot of what you have here in this forum.  From what I understand you can have them migrate your group, but it gets archived and isn't usable.

I am also interested in FreeWebs or the new name for it is Webs.  It looks like their group section and layout might work very well for a group.  They actually have over 300 layouts.  I think the only way I would be able to find out what can and cannot be done here would be to make a group and try things out.

Still waiting to see what the Windows Live groups aree going to be like ... and Yeah, I heard that either Aimoo or Yuku, will cost a manager over $120.00 a year to keep ads out ... plus paying more to make it ad free for members as well .Everyone wants to take advantage of a situation right away ... Yeah come and join us from msn and let us fuck you over royally... Maybe we complained alot about msn, but still all in all, I think it was the best place on the net for groups ...

The ads in Aimoo are located at the bottom of each thread.  They don't get in the way at all.  The ones at Yuku are right in the middle of every second or third post per thread.....not nice.

You can put backgrounds in Yuku now, but it's a different way of doing it.  They do have support pages that explain it.  Aimoo you always could.  Regardless, you will need to know html coding and will have to have everything linked to photobucket or something similar.  One way or the other it's going to take some work and alot of getting use to.

Aimoo has limited amount of storage (can't remember how much) and Yuku has unlimited.

Windows Live Groups.....SUCK!!!!!!!   I do not see how it would be even remotely possible to move a group like this over there.  You can't do anything with it.  I opened a group there to see what it was like.  I don't like it at all.  I will be deleting it as soon as some people have had a chance to look around.  Wizzie....I'll email you the link if you'd like.

I've looked into alot of other places and in my opinion Aimoo or Yuku are the best bet.

This is all I have to report on the subject at this time.....lol

Yeah I heard that Aimoo had ads after every single post to help support them and the ads below ... but now I heard that they are working with people and have removed the ones between the posts and yes Aimoo you can add pics from your puter into photobucket and into a post or straight from PB ... but Yuku, you can not ad from puter, you have to upload to P B... I also heard that now Yuku will migrate your msn group also like Aimoo ... or visa versa ... lol

I also hear from one of the managers at Comm Feedback, that a site called Informe was also a good site ... no ads that they could see and unlimited storage ... but then again, you have to start all new from scratch like you do for the groups who did not migrate msn groups

Sir Jeff from C F also posted a form on alot of group alternatives and what they offer and what they do not ... I will try and find it now and put it in here

OK the chart is to big and msn wont let me post it ... so here is a link to the page ... not sure if you have to join CF on the Web or not to see it ... but that is where they are going to be once msn stops, so you may want to join regardless actually they have been here all along also ...
