I would like to ask you friends. I noticed something strange at WDS, Stockholm, I have never seen it in the ring before. Some TRD dogs showed /or/ used " Bunny hopping" "when use both rear legs same time " like a rabbit". Like they had to hurry up with the rear legs. bouncing. Sign for something wrong, or just normal??? curious. Tina

Could also be young dogs getting too excited in the ring... |

Excitement and stress. Watch outside the terrier rings, especially younger dogs and owners who are nervous. Unless it happens at home and frequently I would not be overly concerned. K |

In Coton De Tulear hopping of the rear can be caused by a nuerological disorder. My friend was actually describing it to me the other day while we were showing Cotons. I will ask him for more info.
I would also consider that it could be a DS ( may or may not be visible on the surface) pressing onto nerves or spinal cord causing the rear to hop occassionally.
