2 knees...sheer hell. Not much else to say. Would not do it again :) Good job on the bike, does not seem like a milestone, but IT IS !!! Keep up the exercises even though you hate them. Swimming and water walking were what really saved me.

Xena did not trust any human for a long time but was never people agressive. When I got her she would only crawl not even stand up straight. I had no clue what I was going to do but could not leave her where she was. It was my alpha hound bitch who decided to help and I just turned her out with the hounds. She learned what it was to be a hound then evolved into a dog from there. She learned from the pack what humans were and that all were not going to hurt her. It was slow and even to today certain men of a specific type will scare her silly. Overall she has come a long way but could have been so much more if not for human greed and the overall effect of a throw away mentality.
It took quite a but of time for Xena to adjust after my knee surgery, but eventually came around. In my opinion she was conflicted....the base instinct of a wild canine and many primatives is to move up in pack order when the opportunity presents itself. The TRD is very primative in many ways and I think Xena was directly conflicted with the love/loyalty of a pet and the "need" to deal with pack heirarchy which she clearly did not want to do. Therefore avoidance was hyothetically her stratedy until Iwas in physically able, in her mind, to retain my status without worry. That is as scientific as I could figure given her nature. Even though she avoided me, my family tells me she slept outside the door and would routinely "patrol" all areas of possible ways into my bedroom or any other area of the house I was in.
