Notes: Missy is a ridgeless Thai Ridgeback - she was born on Jan 9 of this year so is just six months of age. She weighs about 36 pounds and needs training but loves people. She would be a lap dog if she could - she is not well socialized with other dogs and that should be part of her training in the future. She seems fine with cats. The adoption fee for Missy is $400.00

Notes: Brakes is a 6 month old Thai Ridgeback mix (have no idea what she is mixed with or even if she is truly a mix). She is very people friendly and loves to be petted and touched, including having her belly rubbed. She seems to be fine with cats. I have not had her around other dogs yet, but as she is so young she could be fine. Brakes is assumed to be the daughter of Teca as she comes form the same place. She weighs about 29 pounds and is a delightful little girl who reminds me of a fox. If she is a mix, then she could be Shiba and Thai or Jindo and Thai - I cannot really see what other breed she could be. She is quite polite and travels well in a vehicle

Notes: Teca is an 18 month old Thai Ridgeback. She is a pure bred fawn female. Her ridge is lovely and she weighs about 40 pounds. Teca has had puppies at some time in her past. She is now current on her vaccines and is spayed and microchipped. The Thai Ridgeback is somewhat similar to Rhodesian Ridgebacks in temperament, and they suffer with the genetic defect of Dermoid Sinus in the breed as well, but that is where the similarity stops. Thais are smaller and more primitive than RRs. There are several web sites on the Thai including www.royal-dogs.com/. This particular dog is not for a first time dog owner. However, Teca is an absolutely awesome dog who has taught me a lot in the past few weeks. Teca is nicely trained and very polite. She is very protective of what belongs to me. She does not do well with other dogs particularly but is cat safe and horse safe. She totally ignores some dogs and is reactive to others. She is a one person dog but is cautiously polite with other humans. She travels well in vehicles and walks well on a leash. She is very curious and inquisitive - she is a great lap dog. There are reportedly only 500 Thai dogs in the US and why or how she ended up in a shelter is beyond me, but she is safe, spayed and ready to go to a new home immediately. Her adoption fee is $500.00

Ginger,

I'm glad to hear you living arrangements make adoption now possible. I hope things work out for you and Teca. She certainly is a beautiful TRD.

If your travels bring you to the Chicago area let me know and we can meet and swap TRD stories. (I've been told by my friends that I'm just head over heals silly fond of Sadie. Well...she is the best dog ever!!!)

I'm so glad Brakes got a home. He surely is a looker.

Ginger...my fingers are crossed for you (toes...eyes...all that stuph). Maybe we'll hook up next time you're in Chicago.

Cheri
