Hi Gail. This is what I see form the pics.

ear set-excellent
topline-very good and will become better as he matures.
Neckline-excellent and good length, nice tight skin
tail -average, too curly
head- good muzzle head proportions, head appears a little too rounded form profile. Clearly defined stop, but can be slightly more subtle.
Lips- a little too loose
underline- good
Nice shoulder, should become better with age as chest fills out.
Eyes- nice shape, matching coat color which is typical. You will note eyes and nails will coincide with coat colors.

Color- good. Very fitting for his new terrain
Front -good appears strait.
Rear- slightly stiff, would prefer more angle with moderate let down hock- average.

overall a good developing male.
He will fill out more as he matures and muscles will become m clearly defined. Show him agian around 15 months old. Good luck ,James

Hi Gail!

He is only 8 months old, still a puppy. I would be surprised if he had a lot of muscle tone at such a young age. Muscles will come, he will get a bit broader chest also!
In type he is elegant, he will never be really heavy. He looks to be built for speed. I bet some dogs will get a bit angry at him for not being able to keep up with him. I have seen many dogs getting frustrated while running with Sawath and Singha!
You should try lure-coarsing. I think he would love it!

Hi again Gail!
What I meant with "rat-tail" is that it is quickly tapering from the base to the point. This makes the tail look thin, and this is why it is called "rat-tail".
A real rat-tail does not tap down quickly, but is thin (in proportion to the rat).

Over-curved tails often appear shorter than they actually are, especially if they also are thin.

Very nice general appearance. Good, strong and compact body. Right proportions and well angulated. Sufficient depth of chest. Good tail set, but little too much over-curled. Beautiful expression, but little too light eyes. Good, masculin head and good ear set. Nice color and coat.

I think he is really handsome boy.  It would be nice to see his ridge...

Best regards Anna

Very promising young puppy !

Head  = Good shape with correct ears set and size
Eyes = correct almond shape, color maybe light but it's correspendance to coat color, guess his nails are also light color too..LOL
Neck =  excellent neck set with moderate lenght
Body = seems in correct proportion as he still young, looking forward see him after 18 months
Shoulder = moderate shoulder blade
Front/Rears = excellent straight front feet cooperate with moderate rears angulation
Color = maybe little light but it can change time to time..LOL
Croup = slighly steepy croup
Tail set = prefer with little low set tail and maybe less curve too.

I found the word in a dictionary

steep = a road, hill etc that is steep slopes at a high angle

after reading the explanation I am even more confused... Do You think that his croup slopes down to quickly??

Hi Susanne,

I was just joking about his rats tail. I know that he has one, but it is such a cute one. It does curl over too much but it is a great novelty here and as I said everybody wants to touch it. I know it is not what is wanted from the breed standaard point off veiw but I would not mind having lots of curvy tailed Thai Ridgebacks. I like the look. Here in Africa we have a wild pig called a "vlak vark" that has this pointy upright tail and sometime when BuaThong does hold his tail upright I think "oh my gosh here cmes the wild pig"

Ok, I wasn´t sure if You were joking or serious! Some are not familiar with some of the expressions used, and can feel offended.
A rat-tail is not a major fault. Of course not desired, but very common. The Swedish TRD "Vilma" has a typical rat-tail, and she is a MultiChampion. The general construction of the dog is far more important.

I love his head and expression. I do not like his tail as I think it takes away from the overall balance and the set is a bit low. Front looks nice  but I would prefer more angulation in the rear. I prefer the elegant type and will be interested to see what he looks like at full maturity. I looked very closely at the puppy picture to try to see what clues could be there to predict the adult tail and nothing jumped out at me. Breed experts, could you see this tail coming from the puppy picture? If so, how?
Thanks,
K
