No, Paul Stanton have no personnel preference when judging TRD.
He change oftenly his mind when judging, I meet him 3 time and all his B.O.B winner are different in Type/Style,
so guess you cannot really learn from him, and you will never know what he is looking for. and this happen frequently with all rounder judge.

I totally agree, Serge.
I have also seen Paul Stanton judge, and I have also talked to him. From my observations he has no fix type that he prefers.
It doesn´t matter if the dog is short bodied, long bodied, shorter tail, longer tail, red, black, blue etc. If he thinks that the TOTAL of the dog is excellent, then he will give it a certificate.
Just cause he has given prize to some dogs with shorter tail, for example to Vilma af Virtus, it doesn´t mean he prefers shorter tails. He didn´t like Vilma´s tail, but he thought that she had enough good points despite the tail.

Because Mr Stanton chose different body types as his winners doesnt mean he doesnt know what he is doing.  Remember these dogs are judged against the standard not each other and not just which ever one the judge thinks is prettiest. It is the one who closely meets the standard that day. Maybe the others had bad teeth, bad temperment, was limping , uneven ridge,  whatever. One must ask a judge as to why he placed who he placed ( I dont mean ask him at the show) and learn about that judge and his thoughts on the dogs. Maybe he didnt know anyhting or maybe he knows more about each dog then we can see from ringside.

True, dogs are judged against the standard, a hand written standard and can be change in every five years! we believed that judging standard are depend on each individual  how they interpret the written meaning, that's were the judging style came from, but hard to understand the judging style of the judge when he award different type of dog. Remember, we too search a judge who can really help evaluating the breed, and not a judge just for make people happy !

The judge didnt look at he movements,
Some of the dogs moved bad, especially the rearlegs had no "push" (no power)
when they moved, and some looked poor from behind when they moved too tight, not parallel, not in line.
I like smooth flowing movements, not crab-gait, lol
Tina

From the standard;

GAIT: Stride with no pitching nor rolling of the body. Track in two parallel straight lines. When viewed from the front, the forelegs move up and down in straight lines so that the shoulder-, elbow- and pastern joints are approximately in line with each other. When viewed from the rear, the stifle- and hip joints are approximately in line. Move in a straight pattern forward without throwing the feet in or out; thus enavling the stride to be long and drive powerful. The overall appearance of moving dog is one of smooth flowing and well balanced rhythm.
MR STANTON: The gait should be parallel with a long stride and with powerful drive.
