Tina, I have loved the look of Assawin since first seeing his little puppy pictures. He has a lovely color, but I am very attracted to his head and expression. I am reluctant to make solid comment on his conformation, as he is yet too young. Overall, for young pup he seems balanced. He has nice length of neck and great ears! I agree with Edwin, he will probably be large. Don't feed him puppy food. A premium adult food will do. It is my opinion we over do the nutrition with puppys causing their growth to warp, first evidenced in the front legs. Too rich nutrients weakens the front legs first. Ann |

Nice work Tina ! Ann is right, go on an adult formula ( protein 22%-25% ) and add 500 mg Vitamin C daily./ Rgds/Thaidane |

HI Mary Ann: He looks like a nice pup for his age. I too have concerns on his front, especially the pasterns. Ditto on the vitamin C. Will look forward to seeing him in August. Kathy |

Hello all These pics truly do not do him justice. He is a very beautiful boy and I agree will all of you he will be big. I am proud to have bought him and imported him to Canada. There is no problem with his front legs. He just didnt really want to be on the table getting his pic taken while the other dogs were playing the next room so he wasnt standing perfectly. ( I was lucky to get those shots) LOL
No worries about food either. He is on one the number one brands in North America, fed by the top breeders of Great Danes. Eagle Pack large- giant breed puppy. It is specialically fomulated for this and uses only human grade ingredients. I also feed this to all of my Rottweiler and Neapolitan Mastiff pups.

Hello, The are raised on Royal Canine dog food. At first Starter Puppy, then Maxi Baby Dog (+ 26 kg adult weight). Its extra C- vitamin in it. Both parents are big, 56 cm and 62 cm, they eat Royal Canin Medium Sensitive, to gain weight. (just mailed my breeder-contact at Royal Canine for suggestions.....) /Tina |

He looks great!
Front does not look so good, but all other photos I´ve seen of him are not at all like this, so I believe that his front is better in reality. Nice proportions. I see many "Blaze-similarities"! Lovely head and expression. Good head proportions. Very good ears. Lite nose, hope it will be dark at least at summertime! I LOVE his color, so attractive! Very good neck, nice arch. Chest not deep enough, but he is so tiny in age still! We wait and see!! Very good topline and underline. Good angulation on back legs, not too little and not too much. I like angulations on back legs, but not so much it looks like "dobie-style". Assawins are how I want it :-) Average tail (bit too short!) Very good ridge. |

When John-Sigve (Blazes breeder) wisited med he told me Assawin´s nose is going to get darker when he gets older. He have had just 2 TRD litters, but John-Sigve breeds both livernose and black nosed Rhodesian Ridgebacks. His livernosed male RR "Ukukhanya Scout the Red Baron" is awesome! Ps. James and Dan-thais judgings are under next tread. /Tina |

Hi, Mary Ann ! Mine too are feed EaglePack but different formula, Natural formula ( 23% protein 12 % fat ) for puppy under 18 months and Original formula ( 25% protein 15% fat ) for gains weigh when adult. This brand are very good for build muscle but with little dry in coat due to low fat ingredient. Don't worry about color nose, the color will change to dark later if he carry dark pigment in nail or eyes ! Thaidane |

I concur about the weak pasterns - but roadwalking when he is older might fix it plus you can see he still has some chest to come - so its really that his legs havent caught up with his body yet - i find you get growth spurts one way then the other; one day they are huge and short, the next tall and thin. It evens out eventually. I like his head neck topline and tail (I like a nice curve) and his tuck up will come with exercise. His rear angulation is very nice not overdone. The only thing I wonder about is his short shoulders. If they stay short they may give him a clipped style of walking - fox terrier style. Is this something that they grow out of?? I dont know - I have seen knobbly elbow/shouldered puppies grow up with lengthened reach but I dont know about TRDs. I love the colour and his ears!!!! Cute cute and cuter!!! fabia |
