When I discussed the possible cosmetic upgrades to CETME and G3 clones, I used the terms "pinned and clipped" and "flapper"-type magazine release. The intent of the modifications is to make your civilian rilfe look more like its military cousin -- except that it does not have the select fire capability that makes it a "machine gun" -- and illegal in most places.
So here are some photos of my CETME and G3 clones that show off these modifications. If you look closely you can also see the differences between the CETME and G3 triggere groups [note selector markings and selector levers], as well as the hard to find ejection port buffer. Although discontinued by H&K, the port buffers are still manufactured by POF (Pakistan Ordance Factories). The port buffer keeps my CETME and G3 ejection ports from putting creases in the cases.
