What do you do if your Rep is a die-hard gun grabber? Arizona is a pro-gun state, but Pastor is a rabid democrap and wants all guns off the streets. I write the SOB about my pro-gun feelings, but what good will it do? Phoenix is a big city with lots of out-of-staters who have no idea what it means to be a Zoni and a westerner. They keep voting the bastard in!

Is Pastor a D or an R?  Who is his opponent in this November's election?  Where does he/she stand on gun rights?  If they are pro-gun, then they need to be elected in November and Pastor thrown out on his ear.

Do your homework and see what the two candidates' positions on guns and energy are.  It is time to send the political class in DC a wake up call and November is the time to do it.  Once you have their positions, tell all your friends and neighbors in Pastor's district.

Here are the members of the U.S. House of Representatives for AZ in the 110th Congress:

Arizona
Renzi, Rick; Arizona, 1st Franks, Trent; Arizona, 2nd
Shadegg, John B.; Arizona, 3rd Pastor, Ed; Arizona, 4th
Mitchell, Harry E.; Arizona, 5th Flake, Jeff; Arizona, 6th
Grijalva, Raul M.; Arizona, 7th

Giffords, Gabrielle; Arizona, 8th

The GOA ratings for the 110th Congress are (2007 latest available):

ARIZONA

  1 RENZI A+   5 MITCHELL F
  2 FRANKS A   6 FLAKE A-
  3 SHADEGG A-   7 GRIJALVA F-
  4 PASTOR F-   8 GIFFORDS F

Candidates on the 2 September 2008 primary ballot for District 1 and 5.  Those candidates are (NRA grades):

U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

District 1
  (R) Barry Hall ?
  (R) Preston Korn A
  (R) Sandra Livingstone A
  (R) Sydney Hay A
  (R) Tom Hansen A-
District 5
  (R) David Schweikert A
  (R) Jim Ogsbury A
  (R) Laura Knaperek A
  (R) Lee Gentry ?
  (R) Mark Anderson A
  (R) Susan Bitter Smith A

From the composition of the listing, people in AZ 5th District have a good choice of pro-gun candidates, except for Lee Gentry (?), to replace the "F" rated Mitchell.  In AZ 1st District its pretty much a wash, except for Barry Hall (?).

It doesn't look like there are any candidates filed to oppose the other three F's: Ed Pastor, Raul Grijalva, and Gabrielle Giffords.

Whatever you do, VOTE in the 2 September 2008 primary and the 4 November 2008 election.

Well Rick Renzi is having his own trouble and more than likely wont run and if he does he wont win as it looks like he will be busy in court defending himself. Harry Mitchel is an ass kisser and isnt dependable he wants to tax the hell out of us.  Pastor, Girjalva and Giffords are all for more gov. and taxes.  Just my humble opinion...  Jon Nyhus

If Renzi doesn't run, then it's even more important to vote in the primary to get a good guy.  Ditto for this Mitchell guy.  The bad thing is there are so many choices, but the good thing is they are pro-gun with the ? exceptions.

Sounds like the Dems have a lock in secure districts.  Meanwhile, back in the Peoples Democratic Republic of Illinois, some of us are still waiting for AQ to vaporize City Hall (Mayor Daley) and the Thompson Center (Governor Blagojevich).  That would fix about 9/10 of the state's problems.  Make sure the Dem state and fed legislators on home on vacation and you get bonus points.

Pastor looks white to me, but WTF. He's anti-gun and I voted against him with my early ballot!
