All members of a group have their own e-mail settings. You can change your e-mail settings at any time on the E-mail Settings page. Changes take effect immediately.

Here's what you'll find on your E-mail Settings page:

E-mail address of the group: This is shown at the top of the page. Any e-mail messages that are sent using this address are posted to the message board, and are delivered to the e-mail inboxes of those members who have selected that option.

Your e-mail address: The address at which you will receive group e-mail. Add or change your e-mail address in the box provided.

Hide/showy option for your e-mail address: If you want your e-mail address to show up on your Member Profile, so other members can see it and send you messages, select the check box next to Allow other group members to see my e-mail address. Clear the check box if you do not want other members to know your e-mail address.

Message delivery: You decide how you want to read the e-mail messages that are sent and posted to your group. All messages sent to the group's e-mail address are added to the message board along with all the messages that are posted to the board directly.

If you select the following:

On the Web, you'll have to go to the group's message board to read messages. These messages will not be sent to your e-mail inbox.

Daily Digest, you will receive a single e-mail message at the end of each day. This message will contain the full content of all the e-mail messages that were sent and posted to the message board that day. In an active group, this may result in a very large Daily Digest e-mail. In a very active group, you may receive two or more Daily Digests per day.

Inbox, each e-mail message that is sent and posted to the group's message board will be immediately forwarded to your e-mail inbox. In an active group, this may result in a lot of e-mail being delivered to your inbox. (If you select this option, you will not see the Message Delivery by Discussion section, which is described below in Discussion notifications you have requested.)

Group Report delivery: The Group Report is sent by e-mail to members regularly to keep them updated on new members and other changes in the group.

Discussion notifications you have requested: Items listed here include individual message board discussions for which you have requested to receive e-mail updates. Notifications are sent to you by e-mail within one hour of an new discussion posting. New replies to a discussion are sent to you by e-mail immediately. To cancel a discussion notification, click Stop Sending to the right to the discussion name. To stop receiving e-mail for all discussions in the list, click Stop sending for all discussions. (If you selected Inbox as your preferred method for message delivery, you will not see this section on the E-mail Settings page.)

E-mail format preference: You can choose to receive e-mail messages from a group in either plain text or with the colorful and lively formatting that HTML coding provides.
