No, I didn't think it would come out right! Basically, some bright spark of a city councillor has deemed it that Birmingham will lose the apostrophe on its road signs and name places such as King's Heath, Acock's Green, King's Norton. He felt that there was currently 'too much confusion' with the use of apostrophes. His main argument behind the decision is that ambulance services usage of the internet to find directions to incidents, "It would be tragic if the ambulance couldn't find your street if you forgot to include the apostrophe when calling 999." What a feeble excuse and what a vast amount of council cash would be needed to change the current signs to apostrophe-free signs - Kaz |

I understand your frustration Caz...in these trying times when we're all being asked to tighten our belts. it's amazing how our 'leaders' can come with such wasteful ways to spend money.
It's like our congress debating on how the banks are going to waste billions of our dollars, without our consent, ..taxation without representation has come a long way. |
