Here's a good tip!
An ounce or two of red lentils will thicken soups, casseroles or gravies. I suppose you could use green or black lentils but I find that the red ones 'disolve' quicken into the mix!
Since hubby was diagnosed as diabetic I have had to find alternatives to white flour. Lentils are much healthier for you too - Kaz
