I just got a new laptop with MS Vista on it and cannot load P3.  My old computer crashed and do not have a backup.

When I went to load P3 on my laptop with vista I had to go to my computer and click on the drive that had the disk in it and go from there. I did not automaticly load like the updates for PP. I currently have both and am having other troubles with P3, not sure if it is Vista or just P3 itself. Going to have to call tech support on that one yet. HTH

Here's the response someone on here got from tech support about Vista & P3

HTH~  Sorry can't remember if it was Jody? or Darcy? with the new laptop? Or someone else.

I copied the info and emailed it to myself so I had it!

Hey Suzie -- I know 2 people posted this "fix" and one of them was Sandi....I hadn't loaded Vista yet, so was glad to get this info before I do it.

Hope that helped everyone out!

HUH?

I must be missing something!  Are PP and P3 on the same disk?  I loaded the new disk on my computer, and then had to do a program and product update.  Then I placed orders for my Supplies and Samples.

So far from what I can tell, I don't see anything different about PP or this P3.  Am I missing something?  Did I do something wrong?  Seemed to load ok for me.

Ok, turns out I haven't even loaded this P3 yet, I am still on the old one.

Are you people finding it a slow running program?  I have a friend telling me this.

Check out the instructions on installing P3 on CC....

the disk will automatically install the new version of PP.  then you have to MANUALLY launch the P3 exe through Start/Run or by double clicking on the icon within your CD ROM drive.

Then, you will be walked through the P3 install.

PS:  I haven't found P3 to be slow at all --

I find P3 takes longer to start but isn't slow once open. I actually just talked with tech support again today. Lucky me!  I did post about the Vista fix with PP and P3 and the key is once you have it loaded. Right click on the icon [this is for both PP and P3], click on Properties, go to Compatibility tab, near the top make sure it's marked/checked "Run this in compatibility mode for:     (select) Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" and near the bottom check the box under Privilege "Run this program as an administrator".   Check the bottom box for apply and then ok. Now whenever you open either program, don't just double-click on the icon, right click on it and go to "Run as administrator".  Vista is about security and according to tech support PP and P3 have to be run as administrator to work.

PLEASE let me know if that wasn't clear for anyone, I will do my best to help you!! Vista is not my friend right now but we're on speaking terms..for now.

Ok, I loaded the P3 version on my laptop.  Haven't done it on my desktop (main computer) yet.

It is definetly slow on my laptop, but my laptop is old.

I have played around a bit with the calendar, which I have never done on PP in the past, I am finding it way cool.  I think in light of my very light schedule, now would be a good time for me to start using the Contact Management program.

One question, what do you do with the people in the contact list that you don't have contact with anymore.  I have been in business over 10 years and have lots of contacts.  I might have missed a time frame  option or something, what do you do with those people once you have no more contact?  Thanks.

Nevermind, I found that I was able to filter the date on my contact list.

Ya'll should check this out, it is pretty cool.  Make sure you check out the "Quick Start Guide" before you do anything, it may help the most.  I think I am liking this new version if I could just commit to work it.
