DATING/BOOKING GAMES:

Using plastic Easter eggs, or any small containers that aren't completely
clear. (metal, plastic boxes from dollar store)

Write some messages on a piece of paper.
"You have won this container and $1000."
"You have won this container, a date with me, a gift from my basket,
and $20,000!"
"You have won this container and %10 off any order placed today!"
(or instead of discount, give a free gift or gift certificate)

Gather about 20 containers. Fill 8-10 with the message to win the container
and 1000 auction dollars. (If you don't do the auction, use gadget bags).

Fill all the remaining except one, with
"you have won a date w/me & something from my basket" messages.

Vary the item, ie: 2 container, quikit knife, a Best Season's Cookbook, etc.
That way everyone will be curious as to what they might win). One person has
the chance to win the big prize. (but you don't tell guests the odds).

As you pass them out, tell them that this is a game. Explain, "If you want
to keep your container, you have to be willing to play the game. Start with
the person who will probably say yes. Ask her to open her smidget. Tell
everyone else to keep theirs closed. Explain what she won, then go to the
next likely person who might date a party. Continue until everyone has
played. If someone says they can't date a party, say "Oh, I'm sorry!" and
TAKE AWAY the container! THIS WORKS! Don't feel sorry for them and let them
keep the container it defeats the purpose.

The first time I tried this I got 4 datings. Two people said they couldn't
date a party. So I had to PRY the container out of their hands. At the
next party, they were there, and we played the dice game. They played and
dated! Just because someone says no this time doesn't mean you should never
ask again!

--------------------

Try using Jenny's little candy bar wrappers (from The Booster). Some say
"Super good job" and some say "Be a hostess." Put a bunch in a bag and have
them draw one. Give similar incentives as described above.

--------------------

Put a $10 bill inside of one of the containers - almost everybody will take
a chance for $10! If you have 20 containers, make 8 of them win a small
prize, 11 win a prize and date a party. One person has the chance to win
the money (FYI: you don't tell guests the odds). It will rarely be drawn,
but when it is write the $10 off on your taxes as a give-away or use a $10
gift certificate towards that day's order instead).

--------------------

SWEETNESS: Fill your smidgets (or containers) with some candy like M&M's.
Put a tiny sticker inside of half the containers (where it can't be seen).
Rules are, if there is a sticker inside your smidget, you have to date a
party. [TW ladies, you decide whether or not you allow guests to keep their
smidget]. Either way, everyone gets to eat the candy.

--------------------

DUCK POND: Float 6 plastic ducks inside a bowl filled with blue water.
When you're ready to play, tell guests if they book a party now, they may
pick a duck from the pond. On the bottom of the ducks are written things
like: Free shipping, 10% off today's order, pick a book from the basket (my
promo books), etc. (Tip: Use permanent marker). The duck is a symbol of
Usborne, and it fits nicely with the "find the duck" theme in many of our
books. Maybe you can find something about your company that you could
modify. (candle reps could float tea lights).

--------------------

A Partylite consultant I know does her dating game this way: (but you could
use your products, just put the stickers where guests can't see them when
they draw) Use tealights with colored stickers on the bottom. Put 6
tealights in a bag. 2 w/ red stickers, 2 w/ blue, and 2 w/ yellow stickers.

Yellow: Keep the tealight and get a chance to draw again
Blue: Keep the tealight and date a party.
Red: Keep the tealight.

(adjust this to your liking)
