For Christmas the last 10 years or more my mom has just done an appetizer, snack type buffet for our gathering.  Here's what she usually does.

 

My mom always does little cocktail smokies in the crockpot with BBQ sauce.  I think she just adds a bottle of BBQ and a beer!

 

She also does a summer sausage and cheese platter and a veggie tray with a dip. 

 

Velveta chili cheese dip with chips.

 

Lot's of candy...chocolate covered everything!  Pretzels, peanut butter crackers, raisins....Hard candies too.

 

Meatballs in Spaghetti/Maranara sauce in the crockpot.

I think the New Orleans Crab dip with some bread baked in the bread tube and lightly toasted would be perfect to add to this!  Think I'll bring that this year if we make it home.

 

Hot Pizza dip is always one of my favorites.

 

Mini ham puffs I hear are wonderful!

 

Tex Mex Chicken Melts....

 

Fresh Basil and Tomato Bruschetta is to die for!  Good with toasted bread or with chips!

 

Strawberry Bruschetta with cinnamon swirl bread...

 

Seafood Pastry Rounds are very good too!

Can I come to your mom's house ????  Oh my goodness !!!  Yummy !!!

I don't know if I'll make it to my mom's house this year!  But sure, come on over!  The more the merrier!  We aren't sure how hubby's leave time is going to work out right now.  His brother is getting married in June so we have to save up for that and my sister also graduates this year.  Who knows!
