I left with $425 in orders! She still has a few more to collect. There were 10 guests at the show all family and one friend. It was a blast!
It was sooo loud though. I had such a headache after it was over. Everyone was just so chatty. I didn't mind because it was family.
I divided each of the steps of the recipes up and put them on individual slips of paper. Color coded for each recipe. Then I handed them out to each guest including the kids who were there. They took turns coming up and doing the step. I wanted them to demo the product...tell me about it....but I didn't explain that very well, so I did the talking while they did the chopping! But they all had fun! They told me they really enjoyed the different format of the show. So I was excited about that too!
I handed out tokens (doubloons) each time someone asked me a question, answered a question, or gave me a testimonial. Then I gave out beads every time someone asked about hosting or my job. I didn't let them know during the show what each one was for. But I think they started to get the idea towards the end. I also didn't tell them what they were worth!
Since it was family I gave them bigger discounts than I would have if it were not family. I gave them 2% off for each token (at a non family show I'd only do 1%). I also gave the person with the most beads that many $$ off their entire order! Which really only ended up being $3!! They were really excited about that at the end.
May even have someone in the family interested in selling. At least my hubby's aunt wants to talk her hubby into doing it. She asked me...do men do this too...do you know any men who do this? Then she talked to my mother in law later and said she thinks her hubby would be good at it! So I think I'll give her a call if I don't see her in the next couple days! May loose a little family business...but oh well!
